Building Security for Somerset & South west
buildings and home security for Somerset and South west Window glazing can be the weakest point of any building but replacing existing windows with safety or security-type glass can be an expensive project — and very disruptive to the day- to-day running of any business. LLumar pertormance safety and security film ¡s a cost- effective way to upgrade existing glass. It can be installed with minimal disruption and has stood the test of time ¡n terms of longevity, durability and performance. Most LLumar’ performance safety and security films are warranted for up to 10 years, with a real life expectancy far exceeding the warranty period. All LLumar performance safety and security films (internal) have a patented scratch resistant coating for ease of maintenance and added durability. LLumar® performance safety and security film is manufactured in the UK and is the result of extensive research, development and testing. The product ¡s manufactured from optically clear, low haze, biaxially orientated Mylar or Melinex polyester film by DuPont Teijin Films. The films are produced in different ticknesses and constructions to provide a choice ofsolutions to:
If you also suffer from un-wanted solar heat gain or glare within the building then LLumar performance films can also provide effective solar control ¡n combination with the required levels of safety and security. CPFilms is one of the first window film manufacturers to have their safety and security film impact tested to BS EN 12600 (which supersedes BS 6206). These tests have been successfully undertaken on a wide range of glazing types and glass thicknesses. BS EN 1 2600 impact test results are detailed in the LLumar Specifiers Guide.
During the 1 980s and 90s many buildings had anti-shatter film applied to protect against bomb blasts. It is likely that much of this existing film has exceeded its useful life. Over recent years window film technology has advanced significantly, and LLumar’ performance safety and security film has been at the forefront of these technology advances. CPFilms can arrange for on site “peel tests” of existing window film to determine if an existing installation needs replacement. Toughened glass, and particularly overhead glazing, can be of real safety concern because it can be prone to spontaneous breakage due to nickel suiphide inclusions. The correct use of LLumar® safety film and an edge retention/anchorage systems will hold the glass together and ¡n position within the frame until the panel can be replaced.Vital to the success of any safety/security film is the correct installation of the film, so CPFilms has developed a pan- European network of professional installers who match the company’s high standards
